Appley Towers - North Boundary Stone
From Wightpedia
By the side of the sea wall walk, at the north east corner of Appley Park, is this plaque defining the northern boundary of the Appley Towers estate. The plaque probably dates from the early 1900's as it has the 'modern' spelling of 'Appley', rather than 'Apley'.
The plaque reads:
THE APPLEY TOWERS ESTATE EXTENDS FROM THE APPLEY SLIPWAY TO A POINT 1666 FEET TO THE EASTWARD THEREOF AND BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE LINE OF HIGH WATER AT MEDIUM TIDE |
