Shown on OS maps from 1864 to 1907 is the Ashlake Brick Field at Fishbourne, Isle of Wight on the east side of Wootton Creek.

The Isle of Wight Mercury 27 March 1858 contained a notice of an auction for the Ashlake Brick Yard:

Situate between Wootton Bridge and Fish House

KNOWN AS

"ASHLAKE"

Together with the 3-hole kiln, sheds, &c., and comprising 3 acres, with 6 ft. depth of good brick earth, plenty of water, - can be approached by vessels of 50 tons burthen, and also a good road to it.


The above property is held on lease, granted October 1st 1854, for 21 years, at the low rent of £15. ...............


Also, the tools, barrows, planks, pug mills, brick covers, tables, moulds, and boards, will be offered to the purchaser of the brick yard, at a fixed price which, if declined by him, will then be offered in lots.

The 1898 Kelly's Street Directory lists William Hobbs as brick maker at Ashlake, the 1911 directory lists Edgar William Jenkins as the brick maker there.
