Calbourne Methodist Chapel
From Wightpedia
Opened in October 1883 as a Wesleyan Chapel, the chapel at Calbourne closed in 1986 and is now (2023) a private dwelling.
In July 1883, memorial stones were laid during the building of the chapel, by Mrs. Morris, of Stroud Green; Mrs. Dore and Mrs. Vibert, of Newport; Mrs. A. Morris, of Billingham; and Mrs. H. M. Morris, of Kingston. The architect was Mr. T. H. Thompson, of Hull.[1]
The chapel was built to accommodate 150 people and cost £800. It was built in the semi-Gothic style by Mr. Ball, of West Cowes.[2]
