Today (2023) positioned to the west of School Green Road, Freshwater, Isle of Wight, near Black Hut Green and next to the stream stands this milestone which reads:

TO

NEWPORT

This does seem a bit strange as other milestones apparently nearer Newport show '11 Miles to Newport', also this milestone hasn't been found on old maps - possibly this stone was relocated at sometime.
