Holy Cross Church, Binstead

A church on the site of Holy Cross Church, Church Road, Binstead dates from the 12th century, possibly a church was originally built here for workers from the nearby quarries. The current church building dates from 1844 and is Grade II listed.[1]
Within the churchyard are memorials to:
- Thomas Sivell, a smuggler, and
- Francis Boyle Shannon Wilder - the Wilder's Almshouses, in Newport Street, Ryde were establish by his wife in his memory.
