North of Newchurch, Isle of Wight lies Mersley Farm (aka the Garlic Farm (2021)) and against the side of a 19 century barn, along side the road is a round-headed milestone, which Grade II listed[1].

The milestone is reputed to have read '4 miles from Newport', although the numeral appears to have been removed (during WW2 to confuse invaders ?).
