Newtown Arms (The)

The Newtown Arms was an inn in the town of Newtown, Isle of Wight, along the road from the Town Hall.
The Newtown Arms, familiarly referred to as the 'Ark', dates back to the time when Newtown was a busy port; the 1898 and 1911 Kelly's street directories list the landlady as Mrs. Sarah Maria Arnold.
In 1916 the building was turned into a dairy and today it is a private house known as 'Noah's Ark' and is distinguished by the large Newtown coat of arms over the front door.
