1966 - Little Appley Preparatory School closed in December 1966 with the retirement of their last headmaster, Mr. K. S. Mitcheson, a former pupil, who, with his brother, Lieut-Col. P. S. Mitcheson, D.S.O., O.B.E. owned the property. (Isle of Wight County Press - 24 December 1966)
1967 - The property had been acquired by the City of Portsmouth College of Education with the intent of establishing Teacher Training on the site. (Isle of Wight County Press - 25 November 1967)
1979 - An advert for a Resident Bursar describes the property as a 'Hall of Residence' for Portsmouth Polytechnic (Isle of Wight County Press - 21 April 1979)
1981 - The Charlotte Mason School purchases the property from Hampshire County Council and moves to the site (Isle of Wight County Press - 31 July 1981)
1984 - 1989 - Various mentions in the local press refer to 'Little Appley Stage School' which had been established by former professional dancer Mary Anderson and her stage electrician husband, John. (Isle of Wight County Press - 13 January 1989)
1992 - The property, described as 'a run down old Victorian building', went on the market for an estimated price of £300,000. (Isle of Wight County Press - 21 August 1992)
