In 1922, Richard Newell of Seaview introduced a bus service between Seaview and Ryde along the coastal road.
Originally known as 'Newell's Express', it would later become Seaview Services.
Seaview Services Bus & Coach Company was based at the Seafield Garage in Seaview.
In 1963 they took over Read Coaches of Simeon Street, Ryde.
In 1979, the company was taken over by the Robinson family.
In 1989 the bus service ceased and the coach operations moved to Sandown.
The company was sold in May 2022 to Eastleigh-based Xelabus - the sale involved eight vehicles and eight staff.[1]
