The Whit Well, Whitwell

The 'Whit Well', is the origins of the name for the village of Whitwell in the Isle of Wight and the well is located on Public Bridleway NT15, near where it meets Ventnor Road, Whitwell.
Legend has it that the church of St Rhadagunde at Whitwell was the centre of healing for the sick and suffering. Pilgrims would arrive at Puckaster Cove and make their way to the well to pray while the sick and suffering bathed and drank from the well. and then they returned to the coast by way of St Rhadagunde's Path.
The well is on the Whitwell Pilgrim Path and panel number 2 is positioned near the main road leading to the Whit Well.
