East Cowes Coastguard Cottages
From Wightpedia
The East Cowes, Isle of Wight terrace of Coastguard Cottages were built in Gothic style in 1882 on reclaimed land (2004, Grade II listed).
A separate house, in similar style, was built at the same time, to the north, for the chief officer (2004, Grade II listed).
At the southern end, separate buildings housed the Watch House and boat store - both now heavy changed but in-keeping with the original Gothic style (2004, Grade II listed).
A newspaper notice by Marvins of West Cowes announced the auction sale by the order of the Admiralty on 9th October 1924, of the East Cowes Coastguard Station with vacant possession (except for cottages 3 and 5 which were let on weekly tenancies)[1].
