The Macnamara Almshouses (sometimes referred to as 'the Market Hill Almshouses' or 'the Ward Cottages'), are tucked away on the north side of Market Hill, Cowes, Isle of Wight were erected in 1881 for 12 poor and aged persons, and endowed with £72 yearly by the trustees of the late Rev. Thomas Binstead Macnamara M.A.[1]

The Almshouses are Grade II listed.[2]

2020 they are administered by the Market Hill Almshouses charity - 'Almshouses for poor and aged widows or unmarried women over 60 years of age or aged married couples of reputable life, inhabitants of West Cowes or of the ancient parish of Northwood preference to be given to members of the Church of England.'
