The Grade I listed[1], St George's Church, Arreton dates from the 11th century with later additions.
The Parish of Arreton used to extend north to Wootton, and south to Rookley; among Chapel of Ease's attached to St George's were St Michael's & All Angels' Mission Church, Wootton Common, St Mark's Church, Wootton, St John's Church, Rookley, and St Barnabas Church, Blackwater.
