St Michael's & All Angels' Mission Church, Wootton Common
From Wightpedia
St Michael's & All Angels' Mission Church at the crossroads near the Woodman's Arms on Wootton Common was an 'Iron Church' erected in 1885 as a Chapel of Ease Chapel attached to St George's Church, Arreton. The land was supplied by Mrs. Mary Nunn Harvey from her Briddlesford Estate and she also paid for the building. A separate building was also provided on the land for a Sunday School.
Originally named St Paul's Church, the name was changed in 1893 to avoid confusion with St Paul's Church, Barton.
In 1908 the church was replaced by St Mark's Church on Station Road and the buildings on the site were removed. Burials in the churchyard continued after the 1908.
Today (2023), the churchyard remains.
