St Paul's Church, Barton

St Paul's Church, Barton, to the east of Newport, was consecrated in February 1844[1] as a Chapel of Ease to its mother church, St Mildred's Church, Whippingham.
In 1843 Queen Victoria contributed £20 towards the cost of the new church.[2]
The Grade II listed[3] church was designed by architect, James William Wild, and the site given by C.W. Martin Esq. Today it is a Parish Church.
The church is surrounded by a churchyard, to the north of which is the cemetery provided by the Barton Burial Board in 1877.
